SEPTEMBERFEST
September 10, 2005
How would you like to spend a day of fun with your family at the Governor's Mansion and support Job's Daughters and the Masonic Fraternity, too? Maybe even squeeze in a tour of the Mansion? Rain or Shine, Free Admission and Parking. On September 10th it's SEPTEMBERFEST at the Governor's Mansion sponsored by Friends of the Mansion from 10am to 5pm at 820 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City. It's a day of activities and exhibits celebrating Oklahoma's past, present and future heritage. Music, dancing, art, crafts, theatre, sports, learning, and food. Last year over 30,000 people attended - what an opportunity to reacquaint the public about the Masonic Fraternity, our charities, and community service!
The Oklahoma Job's Daughters have been invited to distribute brochures about our Order and hand out free fingerprinting kits as our service project. We have representatives from Grand Lodge, DeMolay, Amaranth, York Rite, and other Masonic organizations who have committed to share our area and talk with people about their Orders. We invite you and your family to share your day with us, too - even if it's just to stop by and say Hi! Our tent will be located at the west end of the Mansion grounds on the main walkway. The west end also includes the Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts, Vietnam Veterans of America, and the National Guard. The Friends of the Mansion will also have a large banner for the kids to sign for our troops in Iraq. We hope to see you there!

JD WORKSHOP
July 2005
The 1st Annual JD Workshop was a success with 50+ daughters and adults attending! With the help of the Oklahoma Eastern Star Vision Team, we learned about Membership, Communication, Public Relations and Publicity, and Fraternal Relations. The girls voted to call our new newsletter "The Purple Pages." We had some very special visitors Sunday morning, Mrs. Carolyn Hacker, Worthy Grand Matron Oklahoma Eastern Star, Mrs. Meliora Jenson, Grand Royal Matron Oklahoma Order of the Amaranth, and Mr. Bob Shipe, Past Grand Master Oklahoma Grand Lodge. Many thanks to all the people who helped!
